how did the team fall apart anyhow? caz i only can count like 8 players from the "old" (not calling u old just before i came) players who featured last year? but i think as nearly 70% of the teams is like under 20, lack of experience may be an issue in th christian league we play in. for example i swear a lot.....which is in my nature as i have played competitive football from like the age of 6.....as most of the boys have, but i dont see much difference in this league to the league i played in when i was 16. albeit with bigger stronger people, the skill level is not entirely different, its football, and no1 is of exceeding quality or we would be making money and earning a living through it. i can see where we would need rod and dai, (not making examples just they seem to b on the topic of convo) but i dont think rhys' team is all too bad, i mean thats probably our best team for THURSDAY, not the start of the season maybe, although none of us are choosing, so i dunt see why we try and choose teams. of course rhys didnt want to offend anyone but i see his team as a good shout for thurs, YET again stressing no of us get the option to play/not play or where we play. that is totally up to phil as that is what we asked for.......a manager.

Mike J here, obviously I'd prefer to play in midfield, but if we're lacking a keeper then I'd play there, if it helps the team out then my attitude is that the team is more important than one player. I'm not that bad in goal either, so if I was asked to step up then I'd be willing to go in goal.

I'm not that bad in goal either, so if I was asked to step up then I'd be willing to go in goal. This is the excellent attitude I hope all my players will have. The needs of the team should always come first, if we want to be successful that is. That means players slotting in out of position/doing a job when I am struggling to make a decent 11 or whatever. It may also mean me having to play good players in their less favoured positions which I am pleased to say some have already done for me. Mal has agreed to play in goal this Thursday against Koinonia to help us out of a pickle. But thanks Mike your offer is appreciated and I will keep it in mind if we have a crisis again.

For the record I do not have a problem with anyone choosing or stating what they feel is their best team for a game/team of the season or whatever.
Football is all about individuals opinions and banter which is healthy. What I do not want to see is people making personal derogatory or inflammatory remarks. That is definitely out of order as it will only cause ill feeling within the squad. No one expects everyone else to agree with each other about team selection so as long as we respect each others views there won't be a problem.
You can be sure that as Manager I will not be influenced by anyone's view on this website on what the team should be/tactics or style of play. That said I am always prepared to listen to constructive advice/suggestions on a one to one basis.

Edwards here, sorry been away on holiday the weekend. I'll be there thursday rhy's team sounds good. I dont think rod is as good as parry to be honest, Parry has been on form in the last few friendlies. **Mal and neil in midfield was very effective saturday. i would hate to pick the team lol
